    Hello,

I've applied some text to a surface using the 3D text tool. The text is actually 2D.

When I'm trying to colour this surface, the text will disappear and the surface will be filled entirely by this one colour.

Second problem, when I drew the text, I used an empty fill so I colour it later later. However, now that I've decided on the colour I want the text,I cannot fill the text using the paint tool.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks,

    T1000.

Perhaps upload the model would help here.

I am guessing that you made flat 3d text using the 3d text tool. And not its lying flat on another face, perhaps making it tough to add color to it now?

      Lets see the model,

      Chris

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

        Hello Chris,

I've managed to solve the problem.

For some reason, when using the 3D text tool, if you don't select the "Filled" tickbox in the 3D text menu, and you then colour the surface the text is attached to, the text will disappear. Also, this won't allow you to paint the text in order to change it's colour.

What is the "Filled" tickbox used for?

        Thanks.

Filled means that SU will fill the outlines with faces. If you don't fill it, it will be only the edges bounding the empty ehm... "nothing", so you don't have anything to paint first of all.

          Gai...
