..a comment from Yarmo’s recent email…..
“ We tell everyone there is no use going to the expense of tracking these people down unless there is a real crime involved that is of some scale. Software theft is not going to get you inside their door. In our experience, a crook is a crook. If they distribute illegal software they are normally involved in other illegal enterprises and have other elicit and incriminating materials on their servers. So we give their environments a good look see. When the authorities get involved it is because we have been able to find more serious crimes taking place from the servers outside the realm of software theft.”…if I was you I would tell these people they better start packing up.
We need more "Yarmo's" in this digital wild wild west era. The fact that this enterprise is pirating more than just Twilight I would be willing to bet the servers run a number of other "pirate" sites catering to different software packages and groups. Solo had found "Silo" and some other apps "for sale".
While not everyone here can claim to be a "pirate virgin" (I know I can't from my youthful days") we can work on educating people on why it is so bad. The greatest point I can find is the fact that Twilight is such a great bargain right now that its price point puts itself into the category of affordability even for a struggling Chinese student.

Why not they just get Kerkythea? it's 100% free and is Twilight without the simplified UI, infact it's more powerful with more options.

Very true. New PlayStation 3 games go for $60, and yet kids somehow convince their parents to buy them, all around the globe.

Messing up other peoples computers pays well if you do it legally
I do not believe it is legal to acccess any computer of any organisation/person with the intent to alter or interfere with the system. Doing this is no better than what these blokes are doing by nicking the software.
Shame on you for propagating the notion that such practice is justified.

Following the tradition started by Pete...
Snack break!
OK, I'm a lousy photographer.By the way, it seems http://www.sketchupbbs.com/ no longer allows visitors to see pages, only registered members.
Not the most transparent thing to do given the current situation. -
Not only have they closed sketchupbbs.com to non-registered users, they also have blocked proxy browsing, which means you can't use Google Translate to read anything.
-
Figures, once a thief always a thief. Now they have gone underground, well I have posted the images already (I host them now) and Google guys have been informed of the goings on with one of their authorized resellers, so we wait and see.

Yarmo is still employed full time doing this sort of thing proving that big business is willing to fight fire with fire even though the solution is illegal.
@unknownuser said:
Yarmo and others like him, probably less than 200 altogether on this earth are paid by companies who act under the authority of their local police force (in Canada that would be the RCMP)
Your lies are just as transparent as the pirates.
-
I interpret it like this: Yarmo is like Batman. You know, although what he does is officially illegal, he actually works with the support of the authorities.
-
Well, I was doing my best to turn the table,if you still thinking we are thieves, I feel sorry about this.
last night I posted some of my project to make friendship with you, but it was removed, I fell sorry, too.
farewell -

I can't describe the mess he made cause it was a bit over my head but the computers he was able to reach could not be recovered via restore. He would also leave them a gift somewhere hidden in their network (in Grannies Word files) that would fire up on a set schedule and continue, masking itself as a network connection scanning for an entry point. Thinking it was an external attack most would never find the gremlin for a few months. In the mean time they had to have a full time guy recovering computers until they found it.
Modelhead,
I think you will find that there are less than three hundred poeple on the earth who would believe that the police would authorise or condone this type of activity. Hopefuly you are not one of them. -

farewellYes, it was me. I also explained the reason and I am willing to restore your post in case you provide firm evidence that everything has been removed and you are not going to follow such a practice in the future either (you will need to make your site and forums quite transparent for this).
-
We are sorry that the post has been deleted. SketchUpBAR is a nonrprofit forum for public service. Therefore, there is no service for advertising, cracking, and goods trading.
PS:
There is another site http://www.sketchupbbs.com < http://www.sketchupbbs.com>
It is a commercial services site, its administrator often copy and paste many articles from SCF to his site to reach his business purpose.
He even releases the twilight cracks in his site:
< http://www.sketchupbbs.com/viewthread.php?tid=32087&extra=page%3D1>And there is always a “intense relationship” between us. Actually they often supplant and obloquy us in many places. I don’t know the ID Frederik is or not one of their members, I make announcement here to tell you, our friends, we love sketchup, and will never be in pocket by using your works or releasing cracks and pirated software.

OK then, for the time being, I restore your Gallery post - let the "community" decide if they like the idea.

I can't seem to see when Bianhai - Brian visited this forum the last time...
It's also very difficult to visit SketchUpBBS.com...
Wonder why... -

We at Twilight Render have noted that the effort at SketchUpBar to remove illegal softwared appears legitimate, and has received the support of their forum members.
This is to be encouraged and applauded. Thank you, tas_1985 or egoddess for your understanding.
We have accepted their apology for posting illegal software for download, and have encouraged them strongly to remove ALL pirated software from their servers and forums. We look forward to a future when everyone can have software in their language without adding trouble to it.
As the Chinese (and all countries) stand together against the pirates, they will find much more support in the world than they may at first believe...
We will have Twilight available in several languages in the coming months...
Hope to see you at Twilight Render,
Fletch**ps... Twilight Render not condone 'fighting fire with fire' in the digital world... we encourage respecting of international laws. We do believe in pursuing pirates to the fullest extent of the law.
We (people) depend, rather, on the 'good guys' out there to do what is right. We have all made mistakes and needed forgiveness at some point in life.**
-
Well done Fletch!
If there is one app that can do without piracy it is Twilight.
The price is right, even for students. -
