Bug Splat Upon Starting Up Sketch Up Pro
-
Wow, haven't had a Bug Splat in a long time.
Here's the background - I had to shift machines, reinstalled Sketch Up Pro 6. This worked for a while until I discovered that I could not access the Sandbox tools (tried the Extensions - check Sandbox route to no avail).
I did, however, followed some advice (from the Google Sketch Up Pro forums) on where the Sandbox rubies should dwell, shuffled them around according to the advice, and the Bug Splats immediately followed...Any ideas/suggestions/help will be breathlessly, gratefully received!
Cheers,
Nigel

Delete it all and reinstall? That would probably do it. It sounds like a mix up of files in the wrong folders.

Hi Chris.
Thanks for the reply. That's what I'm thinking right now too...sometimes the simplest solution is best.

...and that didn't work either; same Bug Splat upon firing up SU.
Guess I'll have to wait on the Bug Splat reports I've sent to support. -
The latest word from Google support is to run Sketch Up solo with no other programs...not likely.

If you are upgrading or downgrading, do not copy the Plugins or Tools folders over between versions - Ruby files in the wrong version of SU are a frequent source of bugsplats. When you uninstalled before reinstalling, did you check what files and folders the uninstall had left behind, and delete those "manually"?
Also, are you using Windows Vista? There have been problems with the SU Startup application that do not appear if you open SU by double-clicking on a SKP model in Explorer.
