      Well .. i ahvent found any info about this kind of thing. But lets try .... I dont know how u call it in english ,, but lets try.

      I want to know if theres some good way , or some supoort, plugin, complement or etc that could we can use to draw that things we do in autocad.. i mean, those house's sketch, i usually import this cad file into su to work on it and build the 3d!

      UHmm , anyway, id like to do in su what i do in autocad, that 2d plan that in sketchup i cant cause of some limitations like diferent line types for exemple .. so is there a way ? Or i must keep doing that at autocad?

      Sorry about all this mess ๐ŸŽ‰

        There are no different line types (for instance) in SU but in LayOut the "accompanying" software that comes with SU Pro), after you explode your model, you can edit the line types to your needs.

        LayOut is meant to display whatever is made in SU (a 3D modelling program, not a CAD substitute actually) in 2D and maybe once it will be able to fully substitute CAD applications if you awant.

        There is another option; draw your SU models in SU and then export them (the ortho views or section cuts) to CAD (or use a CAD application that can import SU models to be displayed in 2D like DoubleCAD which even has a free version if you are not using SU Pro))

        Gai...

            SU != CAD

            you may want have a look at ViaCAD which can do all the CAD stuff (and much more) for near to no money.

            SU import and OSX version too.

              We deliver a short inexpensive training program that shows you how to completely substitute SketchUp Pro for CAD. We have successfully carried out several architectural projects up to $1m construction cost this way:

              Zere are still some architectes zat do not know ow to use ze SketchUp..... Zis is unbelievable....

                Hi Paul, Nice video. Went to your site but did not find the class lessons that are directed to production drawings in Su, in order to "completely substitute SketchUp Pro for CAD". What would help are some links to pages illustrating the kind of technical drawings by Su that you teach.
