Hello all, I am using sketchup pro 6 and have always exported 2d CAD elevations from the model to use in autocad. I have a small (6mb) house model that I can not get to export any cad dwg elevations, it freezes and needs to be forced closed. I have tried dwg version r14, autocad 2000, and autocad 2004 with no luck. ANy ideas? Thanks in advance.

Not enough information to do more then guess at a solution, but did you try Windows > Model Info > Purge, and Fix?

Kyle, you might try moving objects not needed for the elevations to separate layers, so they can be turned off before generating the dwg files. Also, how long are you waiting before you force close it? I've had a few very detailed models that took a long time to generate elevations - computer said program was not responding. But it was just busy crunching the elevations.

If you can't get that to work you could try opening the .skp in DoubleCAD XT (free), and save it as a .dwg. If your 2D views are saved as scenes in the .skp DoubleCAD will create a paper space with viewport for each scene preserving layer visibility settings, view, and 2D or perspective camera properties. It might accelerate getting your design into AutoCAD.
