Please note that this model was intentionally created low in details, trying to recreate the quality of the N64. I intended it to go into Second Life once it was done, however I've learned (too late) that currently importing models directly from SketchUp into Second life is either very difficult, or just impossible on this point in time.

It's a starship that I called (for now) the CSS-003 - The Scar. Directly on top of it, is a sister ship called the ESS-004 - The PhiTon. As I would think you would need something like that when you get stranded in the deep void of space.

The following images will show step by step progress on creation. Some images contain content that later on got deleted because they were either too detailed or just looked out of place.

It's still a work in progress as you can see, and many models will be changed and more detailed in the final product. But for now filesize is the biggest priority.

[Maximum image uploads was reached, future updates will appear in this post:

The exterior so far. It still needs some minor details, but most work needs to be done inside.

At this point I wasn't really planning to make this a real starship. I was just messing around, and saved it. The next day I decided to add a little more details, and from there on it steadily formed into a project.

Added the main defense weaponry. It got deleted later on because of it's unstable looking design.

The ribs on the sides were supposed to make it look structurally sound. It also gives me some flat surfaces to work with.

The first try-out design of the thrusters. They got deleted pretty much as soon as they were done, because they looked absolutely ridicules.

The new design of the main propulsion thrusters. They look allot better, in my opinion.

The new design of the main defense weaponry. They look allot more stable, and would be allot more efficient. They can move the 4x turrent across it's vertical axes, and turn around it's middle axes.

These would turn into basic heat seeking rocket launcher platforms.

Simple little turrents called ''mushrooms'' to protect the back thrusters. They're very small, so not very efficient against big ships. They're more a last safety net.

The first work on the PhiTon. Added the back bone, and on top of that are 3 of the main defense turrents.

    A radar-like system.

The first work on the interior. To make it more manageable I've put them into sectors. ''Sector 1 Blue'' got deleted later because I had no real plans for that space at the current time.

First raw screenshot of the landing bay. Or ''The belly of the Beast'' if you will. There's also a little size comparison to get a rough impression to how big the bay (and the ship) really is.

Frameview. Landing bay on the left, and the beginning of the engine room on the right.

Partly (simply) textured landing bay. Fences were added later.

Try out textures for the engine room. Textures will most likely be changed in the future. Haven't spend allot of time here yet to tell you the truth.

Turned of the edges for this screenshot. This the the design for the main corridors. Might need to create a second version of the hall parts, otherwise it might look boring.

Since the ship is 2.3km long in length, I toughed a trams system wouldn't be an unnecessary luxury (I got this concept from Dead Space's USG Ishimura).

The tram station textured. The red stairs on the left were later changed to a more grayish color.

The cryo pod. These will be placed in the Medical Department.

I'm very sorry, ever since the site on which these screenshots were hosted on went down yesterday, the photo's keep appearing as ''image'', I tried to re-enter the URL's but they keep disappearing as soon as the page is refreshed. So you'll have to go to the link provided and view the original screenshots. I'm sorry for this inconvenience.

Why not post the images on here?

              My avatar is an anachronism.

I've tried that, but it proved problematic. When hosted from another site, they keep disappearing as soon as the page is refreshed (or viewed by someone else). They just keep showing as ''image''. It's very frustrating.

                Or did you mean uploading them here? To be honest, I would have no idea how to do that. I'm sort of a forum noob in general. ^W^;

on the post reply form, theres a tab called upload attachment, right next to options; the box below the bit where you enter text. click the tab, then you see normal upload options. you should be able to click the + to add more files per post
