Resizing components.
-
Hi All. New to the wonderful world of sketchup and am having many sleepless nights learning as fast as I can. I have run into a problem though. I cannot for the life of me change 1 dimension in a component. I have created a component that I need to resize the height frequently as I add it to a design. Scale changes all dimensions....?

Hi and welcome!
That shouldn´t be a problem. You did select it, and then hit "S"?
Just do what it says - select a grip and move it to the scale. -
Thanks. Next question if you don't mind. Scale shows as a size of the original scale. 1:2 etc. Anyway I can type in a size ie: 2600mm...?

simply: yes
You can do that with nearly all tools in Sketchup. Try it for the move tool: Select an object, move it while holding down ie. the left arrow key. After dropping it, type in "2m", enter, and then "5x", enter.
