Google Sketchup on Vista

Hi everyone!
I just got my lap top 2 days and go, and I already have this problem where Sketchup does not start on my Vista.
From what I understand is because I use ATI Radeon video card, as it is one of those that is not recommended for google sketchup. But considering I just bought this new laptop and it's a really common video card, does anyone have any suggestion as to how I can resolve this issue?

when you say it doesnt start, does it not start at all? does anything happen when you click on the SU icon?
one thing to try would be right clicking the SU icon->run as administrator. Bit of a guess but sometimes it does the trick.
