Does it use more resources sketchup to leave your models ungrouped / non components? I have a large city project I am working on and if I select a lot of planes / edges at once it crashes. I have 4 gb of RAM and a new dual core intel if that matters. Also Vray and Lightup simply crash sketchup when I try and render a large project.

What are some pointers for keeping projects small enough to be rendered? I am currently now going through my huge project and slicing it up so I can hopefully render some nice things...but its really slow and I had hopes of being able to get a rendered view of the whole city from the top ahh well I guess I will have to rely on good ol' Photoshop for that. If only I could convert some of my Photoshop know how to Sketchup!!

Vizier, I know there is a topic somewhere on the forums that explains how to keep file size down. I think Remus posted it? I can't seem to find it now. I'll keep looking. Otherwise I would suggest doing a search for yourself. Have a great day!

PS. As for leaving the items ungrouped definitely not. For large models I always have lots of groups and components where I can.
