      1. Is there a way to select something then move it along one axis only? A lot of time i just want to change the elevation of an object and the move tool is clunky for that.

      2. If I export a SU file and open in in one of the rendering programs can I expect higher quality renders right away or will I have to redesign my models to take advantage of the better rendering engine?

        1. If you select the thing you want to move, select the move tool and start your move, then hit an arrow key (up/down = blue axis, right = red axis, left = green axis) it will lock the direction of the move.

2)Depends a lot on the render engine. In most it helps to model with rendering in mind. One notable exception is lightup, it will produce renders straight from SU that immediately improve on the default SU output.

1 Begin your Move and press shift! That will block movement on the axis πŸ˜‰
