Yeah, but the Colosseum was quite a big model and though I have a very good pc, the model is very heavy for my computer and makes my computer run very slow. If I'd have added more details, it would be my computers death...

Fixed some things and made new textures. Rendered with Vray (click for enlargement to 2048x1536 for nice details):

Some comments would be nice.. I never get why my work sometime isn't commented and when it is commented, it's just two times for example. Other topics are commented at least ten times, and I don't even reach five. Isn't it good enough? Isn't it worth to be posted on this forum? If you guys are only interested in photo-realistic renders, then I'm off here. Is it that I'm 17 and that you guys, who are all over 30 years and got a job as architect, designer or something else like that, don't take me serious because of my age? If you think that I don't like negative criticism: I do, because I can make my crap better with it. Ok, enough blabla. I'm not begging for comments, I just want to know why.

There is a free section cut ruby that creates faces on cross sections that you might find handy for what Liam mentioned. I think the new textures are a big improvement.

As far as the comments go, I can only speak for myself. I usually look at this site during work, so am in a hurry and look at only a few; I rarely have time to post a thought out response. But, if I want people to comment on my work, I need to contribute, so trying to rectify that.

              Please keep posting, Henk.

Speaking as a SU/rendering newbie myself, I think it has to do with the level of detail you have done. Look at this post by a new member - he got a lot of replies because he spent a lot of time adding lots of details. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=17169 Most of his renders are straight from SU, and they are really impressive.

Keep in mind that most of these guys do this for a living and have seen and/or created much nicer models so it takes a lot to impress them. My advice is to browse the gallery and look at the posts to get ideas for better modeling and rendering. If you see something you like and don't know how it was done, ask! πŸ˜‰ Everyone here is friendly and willing to help. πŸ’š

I think it is a great model.

is a pity that you have not put some sculptures and animated a little the scene with some people.

                    How many polygons have it?

P.D.: I also receive few commentaries (i think so πŸ˜›). We must to continue creating interesting models and already the commentaries will arrive...

P.D.: Thanks for all your comments πŸ˜„

                        Hi Puma,

I'd say that the "architectural massing" is already fine (although there must be some structures under the seats to support those slanting areas).

Now you'd definitely need to add

                        • some (even) better textures (from a distance, this current texture is tiling badly as well as too "uniform" for the building)
                        • some modelling/texturing details (like around the arches - they obviously need to be supported somehow)
                        • if you make sect5ions, yes, definitely use TIG's SectionCutFace plugin so that the massing doesn't look "hollow"
Otherwise I love the ones when you put it into the environment - that's very "professional" looking (although I don't really like this term itself).

Please, carry on developing the project.

                        Gai...
