A good method for making a blade of a sword
-
This is one of those things that just doesn't seem to work . I've tried several methods (like using intersect and scaling) but without any success. Is there a good (and preferable easy) way to make a blade of a sword? Or do I have to get a specific plugin which will basically do it for me?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Matsuo,
The method would probably be a couple of intersections. But what kind of blade do you want to make? There are so many kinds of swords.

Well, for now I want to stick to a simple blade, let's say a dagger. And from there on I'll try to make more complex shapes if all goes well.

Hi Matsuo,
please have a look at the attached skp-file.

The image looks great, but I'm unable to open the .skp file, due to still using v6 of SketchUp. Can you repost the file in SU 6 format please? That would be great!
Thanks!

That sword looks so awesome...how the heck do you get SU to render in such hi res? When i render something it looks like something out of a Dr. Suess book...
example:

PS: Im going to use that sword in one of my backdrops for a DnD campaign so thanks!

Hi Vizier,
The rendering was done by Kerkythea 2008.
