      Well, I'm not a Vista user and AFAIK they have also fixed things since Vista first came out but make sure to install SU as an administrator on Vista but also to run it (first) as an administrator to get it to register correctly.

      Previously there was a temporary workaround when SU didn't start with the SU icon: open an already existing skp file. This has been fixed however.

        I have reinstalled and opened SketchUp as an administrator but it still isn't working. When I installed Vista the first thing I did was install SU, and it worked; then I installed my Graphic Card's drivers (I have an ATI RADEON 9600 Series) and SketchUp didn't work. 😞

          Hm. If this is the graphic driver,it's a problem. If you could start SU, you could make a test to disable hardware acceleration to see if it runs that way and if really the driver the culprit. This way however is problematic.

          I have nVidia so the driver control panes looks a bit different but the functions should be the same. Try to open your video driver control panel, find antialiasing and set it to application controlled. Also make sure you have the latest update for your driver.

          Can you not even open an existing skp file? (Here is one if you don't even have one to start with)

            I have tried it, Anti-Aliasing was already set to controlled. SketchUp still isn't working...

              Sorry then; theseare my "limits" in hardware and Vista. Hopefully someone with better knowledge or a more lucky stab in the dark will chime in.

                    No, it is the 7.0 version (I moved it from my old files). Any way thank you all for helping me! Don't worry for this problem now, I reinstalled XP!

                      As you have switched back to xp you have solved the problem but for the record on vista, I am one of the people that can't open SU normally on vista. The problem is in Vista, not SU but installing as administrator doesn't make any difference.

                      This method works;
                      Go to C, program files, google, sketchup. Find the the SU boot icon, Leave that window open while you find an existing SU file. Drag the existing su file over the top of the SU boot icon. Sketchup opens fine.

                      I have to do this every time I start SU, usually several times a day. Annoying but it works.

                        (stab in the dark) I dont suppose just clicking an .skp works?

                          That's what I also suggested above (even attached an emty one in case he's not got any at hand)

                            Thank you, but I can't try it (you know, now I have XP again). As I said before, I think the problem is in the drivers I installed for my graphics card.
