Help Wanted: SketchUp modeling services
-
Hello Folks. I've been standing in the shadows of this forum for a long time admiring and mostly learning from all the great talent here. Now I would like to impose upon this talent a request. I am a sole practitioner architect (actually my wife p/t and I) that has been fortunate enough to have an over abundance of work fall into my lap. Recently a client asked me for a 3d model of the project we are working on in addition to the very tight time frame to get a bldg. permit set together. I do not have the time to SketchUp this model myself given all the work I have to produce for her and my additional client responsibilities. The project is a residence in the New England shingle style. We are not necessarily looking for a rendering at the moment. (A rendering my come later at the clients request.) We are looking for a 'study model' that we can orbit around on the laptop to study, understand and visualize the house, both outside w/ site and then later on the inside as the project progresses. If anyone is interested in providing such a service, please feel free to contact me by PM or email to discuss further. Thanking you in advance; much appreciated, Tom.

I've always wanted to collaborate on a project through the internet. If you want to have a look at my website and see examples of my SU work go to:
here is a house I designed in Montana which had influences from the Shingle Style:
Please email me if you are still looking for someone to provide assistance.
Regards

Hello all. I wanted to take a moment to thank the many people that responded. The response was quite impressive. Too many to respond to individually at the moment. My client and I have made arrangements for the work with a member from this forum. This will be my first internet collaboration and I hope it turns out to be a positive experience. I have put everyone's email that responded into a folder for future reference. This past week I picked up two additional new house projects so I may be looking for additional help. My initial search before posting here came up with lots of rendering services but none that mentioned virtual model building services. Now I have some good resources. Phil, I have seen your web site before. The way you use your 3d models to present your designs is exactly what my intention is. Thanks again for all the offers, Tom.

Thanks Tom. Sketchup has allowed me to get ideas out of my head and into reality. I never had the natural ability to "sketch" very well. I always felt embarrassed by that and it held me back. Once I found a medium that allowed me to express my thoughts easily and naturally I never once looked back. Sketchup is like the back of my hand now I know it so well that its almost a part of me. I see the world through a SketchUp filter. There seems to be a filter in my brain that takes the visual input from my eyes and simultaneously allow the data to be transmitted to a section of my brain to process what it is seeing and also sends it to another part of my brain to dissect it and break it into sketchup modeling tasks.

This should be posted on the main website of SU as a "testimonial"
