      Hello Dear Friends ,

Sketchup has made life easy but currently there are few issues which i am having problem with.

      1. Whenever I import a file dwg file in sketchup i seem to loose every kind of detail. I import dwg files containing numbers , measurements, sometimes arrowed legends asking any questions online to other architects or legends explaining whihc thing is which .. all such important data is lost. How can we see the dwg file better so that one can make changes within sketchup so only one sketchup software is being used for all services and not dwg softwares.

      2. I created a scene where there was plantation and 3d model. but the file size went out of proportion. It became a 100 mb file and now i cannot operate and work on it and it takes up so much of memory. I am using quad with 8 gb of memory but still cannot work on it. Wehne i used to work on max , even 200 mb files were able to work easily but not the case with sketchup and i am at lost although i dont see the scene to be too huge as well. How can i optimise my scene. If you can provide your email i might be able to send the print screen images as well.

      Looking forward for answers

      Salman

          Hi Salman,

Note that dwg imports will always "lose" those annotation like details you add in the CAD applications. You cannot help so rather get used to it and plan your job accordingly.

As for 3D entourage - now that can be the killer for SketchUp. Be very careful with it and always add these details on separate layers which you can then "turn off" and only display when you need a render (2d presentational output or export etc.)

          Gai...
