How to attach to seperate parts together?

Like i have a rectangle and im trying to connect a triangle to its side, but im not getting it to snap on, help would be greatly appreciated

All you can do normally is to use the Move and the Rotate tools to get things aligned. Sometimes you need to Scale things to perfectly align endpoint to endpoint of different shapes.
