Thanks in advance for all the help I'll be getting here... πŸ˜„

I just upgraded to IE8 and the tutorial videos don't play... I just get that lovely red "x". A quick search suggests that IE8 has problems with embedded SWF files... Anyone experience this and/or develop a work around ?? Or might someone have a line into our friends at Google/SketchUp to let them know of this issue ??

For validation - I fired up Mozilla and the videos play just fine...

      Thanks again,

          Thanks Remus -

          There's a few ways to navigate there - but here's a path:
          from SketchUp:
          Help
          Help Center
gets you to Google SketchUp Help
          Training Programs
          Learn More
          Online Tutorials : Videos
          New to SketchUp
          Basic Concepts
This is the first in the series - but none of them play in IE8

          Thanks again !!

Well, if it's an IE issue, there's not much Google can do. But go ahead, Remus, best if Google knows about it.
I don't know however how MS wants to survive these days without Flash support! 😲

              Gai...

I was thinking it might be something to do with the way theyve coded their pages, so there might be a workaround.

I am and have been using IE8 from the beta days without having this problem, all video, flash, etc plays perfectly on my side, May be something to do with your options I think, maybe your permissions need to be adjusted.

Like Pete, I've also been using IE8 the past 2-3 month, while it's been beta (It's not beta anymore) and although I experienced some strange behaviours from time to time, I don't have any issues with videos, flash or alike...
This just to say that like Pete, I don't have any issues...

                    Cheers

                      Thanks all...

It appears that my new IE8 installation wasn't "all the way" completed.

Instead of selecting "Ask me later" with my latest update attempt - I let it "install" the default settings...

                      All working now.

                      Thanks again.

But there is some chatter about IE8 and SWF... not applicable here though.
