As you don't want to shift from one engine to another, I'd bite the bullet, and learn Vray. Not cheap, and it comes with a learning curve (do read the manual!), but it's both fast and good. All things considered, at the moment Vray is simply the best render engine for SU.

It's not that difficult. The thing to keep in mind is that you needn't understand every single parameter. I don't, and I still manage to come up with decent results - though I must add, for clarity's sake, that I do understand some parameters. See here: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=15635&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=crack Scroll down for the Vray renders.

Now, I am not a genius, so if I can get this far, so can you.

            Wow look amazing !
thanks stinki for the encouragement; i ll buy V-ray right first thing tomorrow. i just hope my wife does not leave me since i am spending at least 8 hours daily on V-ray now. πŸ˜„
although Makers of V-ray suck at support for customers like video tutorials etc. all they have is that old 3 chair manual.

You'll find a couple of vids here: http://asgvis.com/index.php?Itemid=368&id=75&option=com_content&task=blogcategory

They're for Vray for Rhino, but that doesn't matter much. There's written tuts on the ASGVIS site as well. Check those out.

One more thing: don't try too hard to learn any app, that'll take the fun out of it pretty quickly, and you'll get frustrated. Take it one step at a time, and try enjoying yourself while doing so. Easy does it.

That is the best advice I have heard all year!

Yes I do. It is very nice soft...slightly buggy but nice nevertheless.
