Alan, could you use this to model buildings? Or are the results extremely high poly?

The results are usually pretty high poly...especially compared to SU. That kind of technique is far better suited to modelling organic, asymmetric objects. Buildings are probably better done using SU's own PhotoMatch or with a photogrammetry program like Photomodeller.

i DLed and loaded it up, i can't make heads or tails. all i've been able to do is rotate my photo on a plane??

I tihnk you need several photos all from different angles and all the same distance from the object.

Hi All,
I saw your post about Imodeller. I am looking for a lower cost version of this type of software. I have been looking at Photomodeler at 1000-2600 us dollars depending on the version.
I would like to be able to take photos of a house and then build a 3d model in Sketchup so I can get roof dimensions and area measurements without climbing up on the roof. Have any of you got any ideas? Thanks. -
If the building is composed of rectangular shapes, just use SketchUp's photomatch.

I am new to use of Sketchup. I have seen a video using one photo for one side of a building. Is it possible to use different photos for all sides of the building and shots of the roof. Then build a model from those photos? All of that without using some 3d photomodelling package?
