Seeking Renderring Engine Advice
-
Hi everyone,
I'm currently running SU7 on my PC and would like to try renderring one or two of my models. I'd appreciate any advice regarding a suitable renderring engine. I'd like to generate decent renders without too much technical difficulty. I'm aware that Maxwell has a plugin capable of producing excellent images but the program itself is quite memory intensive and relatively difficult to use (so I've been told).
I look forward to receiving your advice.

podium is probably the best place to start. After youve got the hang of the basics you might want to check out kerkythea, bit more difficult to learn but loads more features.
If your looking for something like maxwell, indigo render is worth a look. Has pretty much all the same features, a better (in my opinion) interface and is free. Cant go wrong really.

If you give us examples of what you try to achieve and tells us a bit about your background in computer graphics, we could help you better.
Being myself a bit of a computer geek, my recommendation goes to Kerkythea, as all you learn with it will serve you as a foundation for learning other rendering engines. And it's free.
