Materials on foldable planes blackout
-
I am having a problem with zooming in on folded planes that I place a material on. When the edge of an area with material on it and it has been folded it turns black. Refer to the attached file example. It there a work around or is this something I will just have to live with?

I tried your example and I'm not seeing the black out. See the screen grab. Perhaps it is your graphics card settings? You might try changing the check box settings under Preferences>OpenGL. You'll find that under the Window Menu on a PC and under the SketchUp menu on a Mac. Maybe you could post a screen shot of it?

That worked! You are a gentlemen and a scholar!
Also, attached is a screen shot of the settings that worked for me, as well as the image in the background. Thanks

I'm glad it worked and that you reported.
Oh, and don't tell anyone about that gentleman and scholar thing. I'd hate for people to get the wrong impression.

Hi Jim,
Turning Hardware acceleration off is more a kind of "diagnosis tool" than a real solution. It only indicates that your video card/driver cannot cope with OpenGL. If you have a dedicated card, you should try to update the driver and see if SU then works with HW acceleration on. Otherwise it may slow down SU - especially with larger models (and even more especially with larger textures).

Don't worry, Dave, we won't tell it to anyone. And we know you enough not to have a wrong impresion any more

Gai, you have a good point on the HW acceleration. Reminds me I ought to check for an update on mine.
And thanks for keeping the secret.
