Got a Nikon D40 for Christmas... in the middle of an 8 week photography class! Absolutely stunning photos from all of you...
thanks for yuor shots bubbalove, i hope next time we have mini asssignements here in photography so that everone could improve their shots and composition. it is improtant i beleive because one way you become really good in 3dviz is when you train your eyes to capture good composition using the aperture and lenses. photography is indeed a very good area to explore our compositional skills, and i am happy bubbalove that your having your lessons and wow you have your NikonD40...just a simple hint with that dog, avoid other things that miht cause distraction with your main subject (the dog in the first and 2nd image) removed the clutters in your background as mucgh as possible and learn to simplify the background. i hope everyone will be open with critique.

william those close shots are excellent. and i cant beleive that there such type of trees with that size. huge man. what kind of trees are they? what happen to the fence? was it because of storm or what? amazing i love yur photos.
Those are Redwood trees. Fewer and fewer of them along the coast. That one is one of the biggest.
The fence is designed that way, and continues quite artistically around the corner. Not a great picture to showcase their artistry, but I always thing of SketchUp when I drive by.

This is what I'm taking the class for. We just learned about aperture settings and shutter speed. Next I think we get into composition. I would love to do some mini assignments to sharpen my skills!

nomeradona,
I look forward to seeing your pictures every day -- no fancy equipment or post processing could match your photographer's keen eye for composition. I think you could probably take great pictures with an ancient brownie box camera. -
Nomer,
You truly are a great photographer, congratulations. And you have beautiful kids.Double Espresso,

@mateo i am enjoying those landscapes. with your watchful eye, the composition of each picture is jsut excellent. your use of landscape textures and lines is indeed worth mentioning. hope to see some more.
@sid, is that just using camera phone. i think its time for you to buy a dslr camera. the landscape looks like a clayrender. more sid more.
@ esspresso, i am a fan of you with your series. the texture created by the buildings is just phenomenal. and the movement of hue from bottom right to left is pretty amazing.
