POST YOUR RENDERS NR.2: WAREHOUSE
-
By the way Adam, I see you render in many different apps, care to give me the scoop on all the ones you have? as you seem to own all the cool toys.
-
Yes solo...that sounds perfect. I think it really reflects, not only what render engines are capable of, but how the results can vary from user to user. I think we have such a talented (and growing) membership here. Future threads like this will only serve to build excitement in new users and push them to want to learn more.
I would love it if you chose an exterior scene for the next render this showcase. After that, we can do a kitchen, then a bathroom, then a product shot, then a water scene, then........the list is endless....I'm getting excited just thinking about it!
The render engines I use are Vray (Max&SU) Hypershot, Vue, Podium, Kerky, indigo & Modo. I've demoed every one I could find over the past year. But have settled in to Vray, Hypershot and Vue as my primary favorites. Never really got into the unbiased engines, although of the ones I used, I liked Fry the best. I've spent a lot of money on software last year, but it's nice to be able to hand those receipts to my accountant and have them come off of the tab I owe to the man. I'm praying business picks up this season, or I doubt I'll be getting any new toys for a while.

Which version of Artlantis? I'd be curious to see the raw render.
I use Artlantis Studio 2. After it saved my behind when I was on a tight schedule and the model was huge, I grown attached to it.
and this is original render: -
Nice soft shadows.

Man, such great renders from everyone. Who haven't we heard from? I guess Maxwell & Fryrender. I've been pleasantly surprised by a few of the render engine results.
Here's my 2nd attempt with Vray. This time Vray4SU 1.6
You are using Vray4SU 1.6? The latest I can find is 1.5. Are you using some beta version?
-
Jan, it's Vray for SU7 1.5 found here - http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=0&func=select&id=30
I guess there is a 1.5 also for SU6, so they call this one 1.60.16 in the render details. I guess officially it is VrfSU7 1.5.

The one with the loooooooong parsing time. A workflow killer .
-
Actually this warehouse is the fist thing I've rendered since I updated, and I've experienced zero parsing times. Could be that there are only 5 or so materials in the whole model. The 1.5 I was using before this was really bad. It's good to do quick test renders while texturing to find out what is slowing down parsing. It's usually due to materials placed on or in nested components.

Kerkythea render preset 19 MLT/50 passes

Guys I have to disagree there, as making it competitive or a challenge will take the free flow fun out of it and force us to judge instead of enjoy.
Secondly I am opposed to judging render apps against each other as that is what it will end up as being.Lets keep it fun.
