Came across this
http://www.procedural.com/cityengine/features.htmlMight be useful to some of you.

A bargain at $3950!
-
Did you try the demo Remus? It is really good. But I won't be buying at that price.
-
We this is probably more useful to big offices or city council that deals with urban planning. Yes, not cheap...
-
I vaguely remember giving it a quick go, although i had some graphics issues wit it and didnt bother trying to sort it out.
-
Chango at the moment, the firm that I work for is solely concerned with urbanism, we do create city models which is fairly labourious in SU and autocad. Unfortunately they would never buy a product as expensive as City Engine but in terms of productivity I think it could be worth it.
Remus, I had some graphics issues too, I think you must need one hell of a system to run it properly.
-
Indeed, i suppose if your forking out $4000 you can probably afford a decent machine to go with it.
-
I am guess the procedure city generator would be great any type of urban visualization and yeah if you can afford the program you sure can afford a kick-ass computer. One of my tutor who works for SOM has a super dupers quadro 5800 based workstation and wonders why i can't draw complicated stuff like he does on Rhino... What can i say.

"Could you lend us a few grand?" might do it
