Do You think this is possible in sketchup
-
This isn't a Sketchup specific solution but I have posted about this before:
Project by Stanford Uni. The software hasn't been released yet but if you export an avi from sketchup, send them it and they'll embed video in it for you. They are happy to do it as they are testing the software. It works well.

thanks linea for the interesting link. Exporting avi from sketchup importig it into a video
editing program that would allow video mapping into the surfaces, thats what Iam looking
for. There has to be a way to do this or a program that can easily mix both together to create this effect .Granted, the standford students are comming out with a technology that
allows the mapping to be fully embedded in the video , meaning that people can walk infont of the mapped videos. That is complicated and very interesting.but all i want to do is to be able to d it in sketchup. Please anyone?

The opther option would be the video texture plugin by TBD that I don't think was released. At least, I can not find a download for it. But here is the page with a link to a video he made using his plugin:
Like Chris say, it is possible in SketchUp as well - although the plugin hasn't been published publicly:

I would imagine that the modeling and rendering where done seperately and then pulled into a program like after effects, and then the video was mapped in there. But this idea of video textures is very interesting...anyone know about the progress of this plugin?

nope, everything was done inside Sketchup without any extras beside my plugin. the videos are running inside Sketchup and you can continue modeling (as I shown with the table) or navigate normally through your model.

Any updates over if/when your plugin is going to be made available?

as more and more people are interested in it, think that I will allocate more time for this project and have something available this year (other projects have higher priority for now)

Is there a reason that animated GIFs can't be imported into SU? I'd have thought that would have been a much easier way to get "video" into SU than any other.
-
There is another "experimental" development for a plugin that places video files into SU by "Morisdov" here (scoll down to the boittom,to "Video on a SketchUp face using textured material").
Note that I haven't tried just "know" about it.

Thanks Gaieus for the link, I tried it and it works with the default video.
I finally saw a video in sketchup!! The problem is that when I tried to put my video in sketch up, the plug in seemed worthless and it just showed the default video , I must be doing something wrong. but still a good link. Wishfull thinking , but I am hoping I get more msg with links or information, so please keep on posting. -
I don't know the script (never used) but I can imagine the default video is hard coded in it (it also says "beta").You an open the script in a plain text editor like Notepad and have a look if the link to the video is somewhere inside.
