How can I get into a forum?

I happened upon the SU Community forum while I was scouring the internet for some help. "Great site," I thought, so I registered. Before I registered I could read through the Woodworking forum, but now I get a "not authorized to read this forum" message. I'm certainly logged in correctly. What could I be doing wrong?

If you go to the user control panel (left corner of the board,) then to the usergroup tab and sign up to the woodworking forum from there.

Getting fed up of having to scroll through the same posts each visit?
