Export to PhotoShop CS4 Extended
-
Hi,
Longtime PhotoShop, but new to SketchUp 7 Win XP.
Created my own basic building with one door component also created by me. Looks fine in Sketchup.
Exported in .KMZ format.
Imported .KMZ into PhotoShop CS4 extended.
All I can see is the door component, not the rest of the building.
Where am I going wrong?

What are you looking to do in CS4?
I just tried exporting .kmz in to CS3 ad its just an image file, if this is what your after youd be better of exporting as .png or similar.
If you want a 3D file: cant help you there.

Thanks.
I am importing as a 3D object with the intention of exporting in 3D PSD format for use in After effects.
Don't think you can do this in CS3.

This should help.

'fraid not. That is for CS3. .KMZ import is built into CS4.
I can import the .KMZ file, but then I do not see the full model.
The question is: after import of Google SketchUp 7 .KMZ model into PhotoShop CS4, how can I see all the content of the model, since it seems that I can only see a small part of it - see description in original post.
-
well, you made the door a component right? and that's the only thing that shows up?
maybe try making the whole model a component?
or check your export settings. -
What export settings for KMZ? I haven't found any.
I have now tried deleting the components and leaving only the basic structure. That imports OK into PS CS4.
I am left with the suspicion that the PhotoShop CS4 3D importer does not recognise the new SketchUp 7 KMZ format properly.

SU 7 .kmz should be the same as SU 6 .kmz, as it is the google earth format, which hasnt changed recently, as far as im aware.
Another thought: might be worth trying exporting as .3ds or some other format, unless you need .kmz to preserve some aspect of the file.
