Photo as wrapping texture

Is there any way to use a jpeg or other image source as a texture on a non flat surface. Example: I have a label for a bottle of water and want to lay it as an image over a cylinder. Is this possible? I have racked my brain over it for a while and didnt know if anyone else had better luck.
