SU 7 - new follow me bug
-
I hope you're right that they'll look at this soon.
As for the follow-me-tool, I sometimes use this to chamfer edges, and with SU7 (in certain cases) it seems to leave behind geometry that it shouldn't have.
To see what I mean, look at the attached model. In this model I want to lean the front of the steps inwards a little bit. To do this, I draw a line to create a surface to extrude, then I preselect the path and use the follow-me on the small triangle. As you can see from the image sequence, the result is not what I would expect (and not what I got in SU6). I know that I can just delete the leftovers, but it is still undesired behaviour.Path preselected, ready to follow-me:

Result is not too good:

If the extrusion profile is not connected to the bottom intersection between the horizontal and vertical step, it works as it should:

You are rigt - this doesn't happen in SU 6 either.
I even split the topic so that this is a separate bug report. Thanks.

Thanks for splitting the topic. Probably best that way.
For the sample model it is also possible to workaround the problem by using push/pull on the lower step to push it slightly down and out of the way before using the follow-me tool to chamfer the edge. Afterwards it can be pulled back up to complete the operation. A bit cumbersome, but slightly faster than manually deleting the otherwise leftover geometry.

Well, we are ll using SU so workarounds are our best friends

Anyway, I have also reported this bug and hope it will be addressed soon as after the main release there are generall some minor patches to fix newly appeared bugs.
