[REQUEST] DropByGravity.rb

Hi all,
I love the Drop.rb, compspray ruby and the other one (forgot the name) from Smustard that randomly drops objects on geometry/groundplane.
In order to have more realism, it would be great to have a ruby that takes gravity into account.A bit like Sketchyphysics, but then stripped down to be used while modeling.
The ruby could be used to 'stack' things on to eachother in a realistic way, or to freeze a dropping motion, etc...
The plugin could take the geometry of an object in to account, resulting in realistic physical correct behaviour...Maybe I am pushing it with this example image, but I just like to set my expectations high :
Any ideas?

I think you can do that with sketchyphysics by pausing the simulation, saving the file and then exiting SU.

I know. SP is a very nice plugin, but I am asking for a much more simplified ruby and one that is easier to integrate in a modeling workflow.
Also, Sketchyphysics doesn't really take the real geometry of an object into account, only a simplification of that object, like a cube or a sphere.

That's not entirely true, you can select 'convexhull' [or something that closely resembles that word ] and that will make some sort of wrapper around the object giving it a pretty realistic effect.

really? cool, I didn't know that. I was always annoyed, that objects didn't fall according to their centre of mass with SketchyPhysics.
but such a script would really be fantastic, kwistenbiebel. select several objects and hit the 'gravity' button, then work with the result.
perhaps that is something for the next SketchyPhysics version... -
