Blue axis

No matter how many times I tried, following the egg shape tut
instructions, I could'nt make a copied circle turn. does anyone have any suggestions?
Tnx -
Hi Duxgga, hi folks.
Try these steps:
1 - Select the "Front view"
2 - Draw the shape that you want to revolve (circle, egg shape, whatever). The shape will be drawn on the vertical red-blue plane. Take care to position the axis of symmetry of the shape on the blue axis.
3 - Orbit the model in order to see the ground plane (red-green plane). Use the ISO view if you are not sure.
4 - Select the Circle Tool.
5 - Draw an horizontal circle centered on the axes origin. This circle will act as the path for the "Follow me" Tool.
6 - Select the circle. It doesn't matter if you select the circle face, the circle perimeter or both.
7 - Select the "Follow me" Tool.
8 - Click on the vertical face drawn in step 2.
You shall obtain the model you want.
Practice with a few shapes. After you get some experience, you will probably discover that:
1 - The axis of symmetry of the shape don't need to be on the blue axis. The only important point is that this axis of symmetry must be aligned with the center of the circle acting as the path for the "Follow me" Tool.
2 - The shape don't need to always ne on a vertical plane and the path on the horizontal plane. The only important point is that they must be perpendicular to each other.
3 - You dont need a full face for the shape. Only one half is sufficient when it is revolved around a full circle. For circles, however, it is faster to draw a circle than to draw a half circle with the Arc Tool and then a line with the Line Tool to get a half circular face.
4 - You dont always need to use a standard view. After some practice you will see how to force a tool to draw on a vertical plane instead of an horizontal one. Use the Orbit Tool for that. When you mostly see a vertical plane, there is a good chace that a rectangle, arc, circle, polygon, etc. will be drawn vertically.
Dont forget that you can orbit, pan, zoom, change viewing style, etc, even in the middle of an operation like drawing, scaling, moving, rotating, etc.
Just ideas.

And here is a quick demonstration of the famous "Jean (Johnny) Lemire way of making a sphere" without needing to orbit:

Also, if you do the "copy circle > rotate circle" way, click with the rotate tool but don't release it but start dragging the cursor sideways. This way you can align the rotate tool to any direction easily.
When you are fine, release it an it will get stuck in that position; now pick a point on the circle and start rotating it. -
Tnx!
So very much helpful!
I never imagined how easy this can be!
