Auto filling in of boxes ?
-
Hey all,
First post .. and I'm sure it's a stupid noob question .. but I looked and couldn't find an answer.
I'm trying to model an aquarium sump that I have at home. I have all the measurements. It's basically an open top box with baffles, etc. inside. now when I model the outside edges of the box it adds a top to it automatically that I can't (or just don't know how to ) delete. How can I stop it from doing this?
And I love the program so far (2 hours) and thanks for the help.

When all sides of a plane are drawn, SU usually fills in the face of that plane. With the Selection tool (arrow) active, click once on the face so that it is "selected" (it will have a pattern of dots highlighting the face). Press the delete button.
The above may be so obvious that you already know it, and some other issue is happening. It would be hard to say what that is, without more information or posting a model.

Hi GTP,
The best would be to group all your aquarium (once you deleted the top face) so that later you can't incidentally recreate it on one hand and also, when you fill it with what-nots, they won't stick to it.
Select all the geometry of the aquarium > right click > choose "Make group"
And welcome to the forums!
