Some Interior Rendered Vray Sketchup
-
Hi there,
Those are AMAZING! I have been debating about which render program,Podium or Vray. Cost versus quality? Your post really helps me figure it out, thank you. I am having a hard time figuring out adding displacement to a textured surface. Are you able to post a point form list of how or even a tutorial? That would be great! Any more renders you could post? Have a great day....
Cheers,
Jeff -
Jeff,
When adding displacement to a face in Vray, try grouping the face and bounding edges before you render. If that doesn't work, then you need to subdivide the face until there is enough geometry for displacement to start working.
Also, be careful of using displacement where using bump would be more effective. Displacement will bog down render times, and it's not always even noticeable except in close up shots.

Fantastic renders Nomer, I have just started learning V-ray, your images inspire me.

Hi Earthmover,
thanks for your advise. I'm assuming I need to tweak setting in the Vray material editor? Check the Displacement box and click on the "m". Pick a type of "sky,noise,...etc. Change multiplier? My hair is turning grey.....

thanks boofredlay

mannie, i have not use Vue... but the way solo produced some of his works i think that rendering progra is amazing
-
thanks remus. agree with that, i should have perhaps rendered in a much bigger ouput.

click..podium is another rendering engine i love, and i could say it could also render as close with this. earth mover has gave you the most important tip in displacement.. GROUP the face you want to have displacement. no group no displacement.

im happy in a way my images inspires you Pete cause you always inspires me with your work weather rendering, texturing or modelling. i bet i will just give you few days, or week you will be able to produce top notch images.. becuase its in the blood....

Nice Nomer! I really love the photometric lights in max...but for me IES lights means only one thing, and that is 'Lithonia Lights'. This is what you used? If not, search on the internet, it's free, it's a plug-in, and it has his own viewer.

i have done these in htpershot before,, so this is my vray version. the main thing here is creating the carpet using normal map as bumpmap instead of black and white bumpmap material.
