Is there any way to get the 3D text edited to italics? Plugins, rubys etc?

You can define 3D text to be italic on the fly, when creating it:

Is that feature in SU Pro? Because in my text window the drop down has only regular as a choice.

No, it should be the same in both versions.

I think the options will depend on which font you have selected.
