X -ray question

Hey guys,
I was wondering if you can x-ray only certain parts of an object. Like I'm building a fully enclosed trailer and I want to show most of it in x-ray mode but without making the picture look to crazy with a bunch of lines. Is this possible? Let me know. Thanks

You can render to xray with Vue.
Here is an example of Silvershadows Black hawk done in xray (the color and opacity can be edited as to your preference)

There is this ruby script that make toggels the selection x-ray or not, XraySelection.rb.
