Imported file into sketchup is out of scale

Hi,
I am an industrial designer, and consider myself to be pretty good with various CAID/CAD software, but I am having trouble using sketchup.I managed to import a 3ds model into sketchup but it is drastically out of scale. Does anyone have a soulution. I attempted to use the the ruler and convert, but i don't think it refuses to upgrade when i type in the new scale.

Just a quick stab here, is your units (ie, inches, cm's, feet etc.) in your exporting app the same as your SU units?

I was importing a model that was 35 inches not 35ft. I fixed. But now my file is 52 mb and Google Warehouse won't let me upload larger than 10mb. I've built a 3D model of the office that I work and am trying to import it into google earth, any suggestions?

52 MB sounds drastically big for a model of an office, unless you've modelled every paper clip. Did you purge the model of all unwanted components and materials?
