Styles/Edges glitch

When I use Styles to switch to Edges/Color by Axis, Sketchup does not (usually) allow me to switch back to black unless I get out of Edges then come back to it. Often, the type is mislaid and overlapping on the Styles Window when this happens.
I'm using OS 10.5.5 (and it also happened on 10.5.2) on a MacBook Pro, running SU 6 Freebie.
