    Hi everybody,

I'm searching for a script that gives choosen thickness to a group of surfaces. Does it exist? I attach an image of the object to which I wish to give a thickness (steps). In addition, is it possible to transform the lines into cylinders?

    Thank you for your help.

Double stairs, every string is a simple line, every step is a group of simple surface, I'd like to give a little thickness to it.

TIG's TubeAlongPath script would deal with the lines for you.

You said the steps are groups. If you would make a component of one and copy it to make the others, you could edit one of them to give thickness and all the others would be edited at the same time. I would make components of the lines-tubes as well to prevent the file size from going through the roof.

i see that steps of stair have texture, so right click at step and select by color/texture.
Then D.Bur's Projections ext.(http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/RUBY_Library_Depot.htm )>>Faces operations or use Joint Push Pull from Fredo - Visual Edition - http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=6708&st=0&sk=t&sd=a#p42783

Ok, thank you, it works, the probleme was that i made group inspite of components...stupid error. In addition, do you know a script which makes it possible to reorientate the juxtaposed faces the same way (some normals are inverted), so that I can extrude the steps with joint push pull from fredo?

Have you tried opeing the group/component, right clicking on a face that is oriented correctly and then choosing Orient Faces?
