A series of massive explosions at a propane distribution plant in the Wilson Ave. and Keele St. area early today led to the shutdown of a chunk of the city’s northwest corner and the evacuation of thousands of residents, many of them elderly.

Firefighters reported that there were only a handful of people with minor injuries and one unaccounted for.

The neighbourhood “got off very lucky,” said Division Commander Bob O’Hallarn. “The situation has improved. It’s going in the right direction. It’s still a risk but not as much of a risk as it was before.”

Officials said it was possible residents would be allowed to return to their homes later today.

Its a miracle that so few people were injured/killed.

Well, could've been worse - thank God so few people got injured.

"We're sorry, this video is no longer available." This is the message I'm confronted with when I select the play button on any one of the two linked YouTube movies above. Any other links that work?

            The one at Remus' link?

(I can imagine that the media bought those two videos up).

                  Thanks for the link, Remus.
It's true so few people were hurt. My sister is staying with a friend right now whose door got blown open from the shockwave. 😲

Nope, not working for me either. Don't fret, I'm not that curious to see what happened, obviously I was not meant to see this...
