These are from a current project I was working on. First though, I have to thank solo for the chair model. I have yet to get sub + smooth, and i probably wouldnt have the ability and patience to make something that looks that good, but I wanted to give credit where credit is due. He just took my request that I posted on the podium form and went and made it. Very classy, thanks man. But I rendered these using v-ray. Hope you like them. Comments and feedback are greatly appreciated. And let me know if anyone has any questions.

Nice renders
very clean. My only crit would be with the carpet ( i assume its meant to be carpet.) it looks like lino at the moment, perhaps add a bit of displacement (if vray supports it) and a bit of bump.

Very nice!
good!

Yeah v-ray supports displacement. I agree though I probably should have added a little bit of displacement but my computer acts funny and really slows down when rendering something with displacement. I also could have added at least a little bit of bump to help it out. It does look a little too much like lino. But thanks for the feedback guys. Hope to get more.

Here is an updated view and one new view. I did these primarily to mess around with some lighting effects in post processing and I know they are extremely exaggerated and inacurrate, but sometimes that helps sell a design and they can look really kool. Let me know what you think.

Fantastic renders from VRay (I guess you're using Vray for SU?)- I did a double-take at the first one, it is very photorealistic.... amazing detail and materials on the tableware too. I'd say displacement would be way overkill for a carpet (not least cos render times would get way longer)- after all short pile carpet only displaces by a few millimetres or 1/8", but a slight noise bump map might improve it further.
Very impressive work.

Easy on the lens flare! i think it spoils those last 3 renders, if im honest. Especially the last one, it looks entirely artificial.
-
really nice renders!
only crit about the last three: there's a strange blue color on the cutlery and the glasses doesn't look very realistic: in a real glass you can see through it. -
Thanks for the crits guys. Remus, the lens flares are agreeably too distracting, they were just to play around with lighting affects in PS. I would definately not put them in a final rendering.
And damn Julius, I didnt think anyone was going to catch that about the untensils. They definately give off a blueish reflection. I think it has something to do with the refraction layer for my glasses. But good catch. Im gonna try to fix that.
