Reg. Superimpose 2d image on 3d model
-
Hi,
I am new to sketchup. I have created a 3d model of a Coffee mug. I am trying to import a 2d image (a logo) and superimpose the same onto the coffee mug. The only option I was able to come across was to import the logo as texture image and use paint brush to paint it on the Coffee mug. The problem is the logo is smaller in size and when I do this, the logo gets superimposed on the mug multiple times. Does any body have a solution to this problem?Thank You.

You need to watch some of the videos and other tutorials linked off the Help menu. Here is a YouTube clip of wrapping a texture around a cylinder.
You need to do pretty much the same thing. The difference will be that you will need to turn on hidden geometry and paint the logo on one face at a time so it doesn't wrap all the way around. You'll also need to draw some lines running horizontally across the faces in question in order to limit it to just a single repeat vertically.
Basically, it's a question of constraining the image to a single repeat by using edges to hem it in. Obviously, everything outside this perimiter is painted mug colour. -
Thanks Allan. This worked for me.
