Help Please, Tools Are Not Working Correctly
-
I have a couple of issues with Sketchup and my new laptop. I have a new Sony Vaio running Vista Home. I downloaded Sketchup to do a simple model for a little pump house I will be building soon. When using the selection tool my cursor is off. What I mean is if I place the selection tool on a line it will not select it. If I move it above the line a little so that the tail of the cursor is just above the line it will it will select the line. My eraser is doing the same thing. The pencil tool seems off as well. These issues seem to be a problem only on horizontal lines. Have any of you seen a problem like this? What can I do to resolve these issues? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Bake,
Welcome to the SketchUcation Forums. This is the first time I've heard
of such a problem and I'm stumped. Do you have any problem selecting
items in other programs or is it just an SU problem? Maybe it might be
worth an uninstall / install?Mike
PS: BTW, what graphics card do you have?

Thanks for the welcome. Everything else seems to be working fine. My first thought was to try the uninstall/install. I just thought I would check here first to see if it was a known issue. I'll go ahead and uninstall now. I'll post back and let you know how it goes. Thanks.

Again im not entirely sure what this is, but it sounds like your mouse is misaligned, perhaps some funny business with your mouse software?

Could also be video card issue. Make sure you download the newest drivers for your video card. Its possible the ones shipped with it are already outdated.

Thanks for the input guys. I uninstalled it, downloaded again and installed. Everything seems good now. I should have done that first rather than posting here I guess. Sorry... Again, Thanks to all.
