the XraySelection.rb by Fredo6 is a great scrip for visulisation of complex ideas.
However the xray applied can only be reverted with the undo button. I wonder if it would be easy to make all the instances with xray applied have their original texture remembered so they can be reverted individually?

The plugin toggles on and off. When turned off it reverts to the previous material. I assigned Alt+X as a shortcut for it.
