How can I import a 3D SolidWorks design in SU

Hi all
The title says it all... I haven't figured out how i can import a 3D solidWorks design in SU... Is it possible? Do I need a third party software to achieve my goal?

That plugin will import and export stl files. It's from Didier Bur's site:

I have no idea how well it works as I've never had cause to use it. There may be other importers and exporters on that site. stl was the first I checked for.

Do you have AutoCAD as well. If so, I suggest that you export from SolidWorks as a .sat file. Import it into AutoCAD and scale up x100 (to take care of small features). Export it back out as a .dwg file (I suggest 2004 format), and the import it into SU as a .dwg file. This route works for Inventor 11. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to go the other way - SU to Inventor.
The attached was modelled in Inventor and then exported to SU via the above route.

Isn't .dwg a 2D design file format?

The .dwg file is not just 2d, Autodesk have made it simple (for once).

.sldprtSave to an acis file. Open DWGEditor. Import ACIS file. Save as a dwg. Import in Sketchup.
Works great.
