    Hello, my first post here.

I'm a fairly experienced sketchup user and am well aware of the big rendering packages available for sketchup (v-ray, podium etc), but am wondering if there are any free rendering/ray trace plugins available for it at the moment - I had the 30 day trial version of v-ray which was wonderful, but sadly I didn't get the use out of it that i'd hoped for due to my workload combined with render times. So if anyone knows of any freeware rendering plugins, or perhaps any that are in the pipeline at the moment and due for release later, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Macker

The 2 big free rendering packages are kerkythea and indigo. Kerkythea is probably the closest to vray, although it is more varied in its methods.

Indigo is more similar to maxwell in terms of features etc. and also how it works.

          Indigo :yes.
Kerkythea: No, but it has a plugin to export from SU to the Kerkythea app.

              Hi Macker,

Don't forget to download and install those fantastic material libraries and 3D models (trees and such) that are generously shared over the Kerky site. They make so much difference! 👍
