    Hi All,

I'd like to "collect" the names of those SCF members who are going to 3D BaseCamp. There are a few reasons for this if you are interested:

    1. Obviously we could make a "party" there (but at least we could meet personally).
    2. We have created an "SCF - 3D BaseCamp Blog " where all SCF members who go to the BaseCamp could post their stories, pictures, videos, what-nots (afaik to be able to post at blogspot, you'd need a Google account or something thus I'd need that - email address - in order to "invite" you as an author of the blog).
This blog then could be linked here somewhere temporarily so everyone could access it with just one click. This is something we could contribute with for all the others who don't have the possibility to go (they would of course have the possibility to comment the blog entries).
    3. Maybe some other surprisesbut we need some discussions beforehands.
Those who aregoing and interested, please, send me the email address you use for your Google account in a PRIVATE MESSAGE (don't post it here for privacy reasons - I will not share the info with anyone although you need to know that these email addresses may be accessible at some Google services).

Those who are not going to 3D BC, please, don't post here for the mere reason that I am a messy guy and will get confused easily and lose track. Sorry that I need to say this - I'd really love to meet you all in 3D BC but this is only for organizing better flow of information for particularly you.

Note that it is not something "elitism" or wanting to exclude members who cannot go but just an initiative to provide you with as much info as possible.

Yes, I am going and interested in participating the blog but I won't send my own Google account to myself because I am ("we are"?) not that schizo (yet).

Would it be helpful to set up a public Picasa web album for SCF? I tend to believe there will be an official one for Google, but perhaps we could have one ourselves, linked to the Blog.

I'll be there, of course. I'm sure after three days no one at the conference will be on speaking terms with me.

            Hi Andrew,

I've already seen your blog (I think I even "commented" an entry - maybe just wanted... πŸ˜‰ )

Looking forward to meeting you! I also send you a PM.

@Lewis - well, an SCF Picasa album sounds fine to me. I'll look into it (how to set up something we can commonly upload to and share with others etc). πŸ‘

In terms of a shared Picasa album, we would either:
--Share a communal user ID and Password.
              -or-
--Upload our photos individually and tag them with a common term, such as "3DBC08"

I would lean towards the latter option, though I have never experimented with tagging (I know it exists, though.) I just don't think there's a way to have people upload to the same album without sharing the account info.

              Thoughts anyone?

                  Anyone from the UK going?
If so what are the chances of an informal "Mini-Basecamp" session in the UK afterwards, for the poor sods that can't afford all this jet set lifestyle? I don't mind doing some research for locations in the Midlands, and I know WITHOUT DOUBT that the hotels here are way cheaper than London and the south-east.

                  I NEED to know!
                  My OCD winds me up!

That's a neat idea, Mark, and I hope you can meet members who attend at the BaseCamp. Until then, make sure to visit the SCF - 3D BaseCamp Blog .

Also, I really hope we will have a chance to have a European meeting maybe next year so keep tuned! πŸ˜‰

                      I made an album, Lewis:

I think that will work out nicely, Gaieus. I just checked and I was able to log in and start (although I didn't actually complete it) an album upload.

I don't know what happens if more than one person tries to sign in as "owner" at the same time...probably the system blocks all additional "owners" out.

Even non-owners, of course, can view the album if they have the proper invitations, and they may also leave comments.

I'm new to the SCF and I'm planning to be there, but so far I have no housing. As I posted in a message earlier today, I'd like to share.

I'm in my 50s, but I have friends in different age groups. I'm also interesting, entrepreneurial and thoughtful. I've attached a photo. You won't be sorry if you offer to share. Besides, wouldn't you love to have a friend in Portland, OR?
                          Thanks,
                          Mary
