Two styles - one file....
-
Hi all,
Attached is a little experiment that I have been playing around with; trying to get two styles into one file.Purpose - for producing sketch illustrations showing setup with say blue lead then filled in with marker. [for those of you who learnt on the drawing board!!]
All is done in SU; no external application....
Your comments are welcome

Looks convincing, IIWU I'd make the straight edged lines a lighter so that they look like construction lines and make the freehand lines a little darker so that they look like final lines.
The old hand not as steady as it used to be, eh?

Thanks Julian, I actually set it up opposite to how you explained. The light blue is freehand draft and the thicker black line is final. Will see how it looks in reverse.
You're right, the freehand lines are rough; trust me to use samples....
Cheers,

I like the concept. It looks intriguing. I'd like to see what it looks like with the lines reversed as Julian pointed out. If you have time let's see the other iteration.

I like it but I want to know how you're doing it.

Thanks guys, I did try reversing the technique as per Julians thread but with not much success. I am going back inot Style Builder and scale with the ruled stlye a bit so it is not so imposing....I am playing around with a few other stroke styles for this particular purpose so I will post when I have had time to play.
Also, the freehand style is one that i have downloaded, just changed the color.
As for the technique, All i have done is exported one style as "hidden line" as a PNG and imported it back into the same file as a watermark....

Thank you Andrew. That is a very nice trick.

Thanks, Dave. I am playing with styles and seeing how I can it to look as loose as possible. I am even scanning a piece of smudged paper to use as a watermark....
Will post next week.
By the way, this is where the inspiration came from.... I think it was a thread from this forum a while back or it may be PPB2...
