[TIPS 'ND TRICKS]: dragging textures to material editor

Hi people,

I am using Sketchup for more than 4 years now and still from time to time I stumble upon a feature I didn't know of.

This one is a great one. A lot of you will already use it but I just discovered it today by accident.

Here it goes:
Instead of browsing a texture and digging into folders to change a material texture, 'drag and drop' your textures from explorer into the texture slot. Waaay more efficient.

what about dragging in another SU model?....must try that.

Yes, you can drag and drop SU models into an open SU window and they will appear as components in the current model. I do this when reviewing students work on a projected screen...it is much faster to drag the submitted homework assignments into an empty SU model than it is to to go through a bunch of dialogs just to load the next assignment for review.

There are a lot of drag-and-drop sort of things in SU, at least on Windows. For instance, you can drag importable image files like JPEGs and drop them right into your model. I have to assume it works the same on a Mac.

(Note that it doesn't seem to work with other model formats.)

Interesting.
I find the drag-'nd-drop method extremely handy when working with a dual screen setup.
SU on the left screen, explorer windows on the right screen.
