I have a lazy-boy cross office chair that reclines, swivels, swings, pretty much moves in every direction and is very comfortable (in fact I even fallen asleep in it on occasion when modeling extended past my conscious threshold)
I believe that you need to get something that is most comfortable and will work with your style of computer operation, price should not be a factor as you need to realize that it will be a chair you will use most and spend the majority of your wake hours in.

Aerons are the way to go - the most amazing, most comfortable chairs on the planet. They're like gold dust at every studio I've worked in - I've only ever got my hands on a slightly gaffa-taped example deemed too 'shabby' for the flame suites... and it's STILL the best chair ever.

Only problem is that they're probably the most expensive chair on the planet, too (about $800-ish, or the same number of sterling ๐Ÿ˜ข )

Second best would probably be one of the ergonomic 'kneeling' chairs - but make sure you get a good version, and not a cheap import with really thin cushions, 'cos your shins will start to burn like crazy after a couple of hours.

            I bought mine from:

            Hope that helps!

              Pete, Alex and DK,

              Thanks for your ideas.

Pete, is this chair similar to the model you have? The price is less than half of an Aeron and it looks like it has most of the adjustments I would need.

I don't suggest a solid surface chair. Meaning, get one with mesh back and seat. I have to use a blanket on my chair at home or the seat gets too hot when I am working. This is what I have at home:

                      http://www.isupplier.com.au/images/OC-7402_large.png

The one I use at work has a mesh back and seat and is ultra comfortable. I am considering getting a couple for home. I will look tomorrow and post the one I have because I cannot remember the brand nor can I find it online right now but it is much like the HM Aeron.

I don't know how much it costs or if it is comfortable but this one is killer to look at:

Or when you need to get out of the office in a hurry:

just recently got the Allsteel Relate (on the left) because they were offering them to architects/designers for very cheap...not bad.. the metal arms 'look' cool..but arent too comfy on the elbows..haha..

before this, i had a Haworth x99 that I also got extremely cheap when they were intro'd.. did not really hold up though... was definitely comfy though..

Ok, it is the Haworth Zody chair we have. We have some with the fabric cushion seat and some with the mesh seat. Virtually everything, even your attitude is adjustable with this chair.
