Geomatry Resizer or Paramatric???

Hi,
This script still has a fews bug! I am improving it.I will group up my uploads into here in the future...

Ooh, that looks very nice. any idea when its going to be ready for release?
-
how download this script???

Hi,
This script is not ready yet. It has bugs, but it is improving every week. Actually, it is a part of my script (OSCarcase.rb) which is for cabinet making.Regards

Do you achieve correction on this interesting plugin ?
It seems to be useful for 3D measurements.MALAISE

oscar!!!
this looks incredible... but it would be truly powerful if you could check a box to maintain a face's area, or an objects volume.this way if you pick a face to maintain it's area, it will change both dimensions to maintain the area. (or a group for maintaining a 3D volume)
application: for architects, this would mean that if they need a 200 square foot room, and they could change one length of the room to fit a certain space, and then the other length would change automatically, while maintaining the proper square footage (or square meters) area size of the room.

Hi Fletch,
It may be possible!
May I know that is the room always in rectangle shape?? or more than two length (e.g. L-shape & etc) which has more than one unknow element(but still possible).
Could you please send me some room shape which you do normally.Regards

Hi MALAISE
It is improving weekly.
Any suggestion are welcome!
ThanksRegards

OscarIt's really really promising script
but let me ask you somthing...1_Is it possible to lock some edges to make constraints to geometry?
2_Can you edit parametrically only the lenght of a segment or also the angle between 2 edges, the surface or somthing else?
3_ Does it work only on edges or also on arcs and curves?
Thanks for putting your time in developing good scripts like that
-
very nice oscarlok! you are building something very useful! gjenio pretty much summarized all my questions or feature requests, I second the wish for
edge position/length locking
face position/area locking
any angle locking
this could help model more accurate approximations! good luck
-
very promising. let us know when you finish it.
-
Hi Oscar,
initially, just rectangle is fine, and I agree with the idea of the others that you could 'lock' the position of an edge so that it won't move.the ability to do an L shaped room would also be good... that is, if the room were an L you could select faces to 'lock' and the rest would be able to move (assumed that floor and ceiling would automatically be 'locked'.
of course, the next step would be the ability to link this to an excel file and have it build the spaces automatically from that file.

Let me see... I have to think that which way to execute it.
I will show some avi after it has been done.
VERTEX, EDGE, FACE, ANGLE....(one by one) Give some time.
What I have done are:-- Select an edge, AUTO indicate the two side as point A & B
- Enter the NEW length
- Select which side(ponit A, B or bothsides) of the edge to ADJUST (similar to LOCK 1 FACE)
What I am doing now is :- - Select a face to lock, then repeat the above.
- But, the script will adjust the edge ONLY in step 3(similar to LOCK 1 Vertex??? or Edge???).

Actually, I am confusing what I am doing now, is it Resizer or Paramatric?
I maybe wrong, I think that what you descript is more to paramatric geomatry. If I am not wrong, parametric needs formular to make constraints to geometry.( similar to my old script "OSCarcase" )
I will rewrite the OSCarcase to make it easier !@fletch said:

I thought there are some ruby scripts regarding this idea already !
May I know what is the data or format in the excel file, please ?I need more idea about paramatric geomatry, please!
Thanks

OscarHi Oskar,
Could this be of any help to you.

Hi Gjenio & Bep
Wow! The sketchflat program is great. It is a two-dimensional technical drawing program. Lots of information !
3D Autonomic Dimensioning is great tool.
Hi Rick Haws, I would like to know how this is progressing ?Thanks
Oscar -
After reading the tutorial of sketchflat program, I use my two script ( OSCresizer & OSCangle) to try to do the similar drawing to the tutorial.
I found that it is very interesting to write a parametric geomatry script. I may try to start from 2D, then 3D.
